As so often in life, we learn and grow most by working things out alongside others. We believe that everyone has a part to play in the life of the church - with your talents, resources and time you too can make a unique and meaningful contribution.

There are many diverse opportunities to serve whether it is on the welcome team, working with children, operating visuals on Sunday, preparing refreshments, praying with others, or helping to maintain the building and grounds. We believe there is something everyone can do and encourage everyone to look to serve in some way.

MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME
Welcome & Refreshments
We want Bridge of Don Baptist Church to be a somewhere where people can feel at home straight away. If you can offer a smile or pour a coffee, join the team.
Worship & Audio-Visual
Sung worship is an important part of our gatherings as we respond to God’s presence. There are always opportunities for musicians, singers, sound technicians and visual producers on this team.
SHARING OUR GIFTS
Children and Youth
Children are an important part of our church family. As the church of the future, we want to help them to come to know and love Jesus for themselves as they grow. If you love children and would like to share your faith with them join the team.
Prayer
We believe that prayer changes things as God speaks and actively works in our lives. The prayer team ministers to and prays for people as they respond to God during our services.

Maintenance & Grounds
If your gifting is of a practical nature or you simply enjoy outside work, you could help with all kinds of practical jobs inside and out, keeping the building and grounds looking good.
A JOYFUL STEP OF FAITH
Baptism
In our church people mark and celebrate their decision to follow Jesus in baptism by immersion. It’s a way of them saying publicly and dramatically, ‘I’ve chosen to follow Jesus and now belong to him’ as they share their story of faith with the wider community. Going under the water symbolises a fresh start, dying to the old and rising to new life in Christ. It is a joyful step of faith and commitment.

Membership
You don’t have to be an official ‘member’ to be part of our church family or even to serve here in some way. But taking the step of church membership is about belonging and actively contributing to the decision making of our church; the ministries we commit to, the directions we take, deciding who should lead us and just how we should spend our resources. Becoming a member is saying, “This is my church family.” Membership means joining a family of believers committed to growing in faith, supporting one another and serving together.
We ask that members be baptised - our teaching and practise is baptism of believers by immersion, but we also honour baptism traditions different to ours if you believe that your baptism was your sincere step of faith in Christ.
